Jari Ketomaa started well when European Rally Championship (ERC) is making first visit to Latvia for Rally Liepaja-Ventspils. Finnish Ford Fiesta driver was fastest in qualifying stage on Friday morning. After that Ketomaa chose to be first car on road for Friday night stages.
In all three stages Ketomaa was near the fastest times set by Peugeot driver Craig Breen.
– I was happy with the car and DMack tyres and we will continue to challenge the lead. I´m confident that me and co-driver Kaj Lindström will be on top form in this rally which is our very first event together, said Ketomaa.
Breen leads overnight, Ketomaa +6.4, Francois Delecour +12.1, Alexey Lukyanuk +32.7, who leads the ERC Production Cup.
Saturday covers 6 stages totalling 92 kilometres. Rally will finish on Sunday with another 6 stages.
